It is like a transition from failure to success. In the beginning, one would come ignorant, start from confusion, failure, doubt, discouragement and so on, then subsequently, begin to gain understanding, focus and then progress sets in.
In the heart of every student lies that desire to eventually graduate and not just graduate, but to cross the finishing line with good grades.
To most students that is the biggest achievement in academic pursuit and I am not exempted.
I know the struggles I saw in school, we saw how people probated, withdrew and how some got expelled.
It doesn't sound like a big deal because if you are serious with your studies, you should graduate, yet it's something huge, why am I saying that? Well, some people began the same school and were serious but couldn't finish.
My biggest achievement in school was graduating with a good grade. When I got admission, I heard about how the majority of people graduate with a pass.
It was something that troubled me greatly, and caused me to take my studies seriously to break the record. Imagine spending years in school, the stress, the tension and everything then graduating with a pass in the end. It's just like you didn't go to school at all, it doesn't sound nice.
So, I had to step up, I was serious with my studies and maintained a good GP till I graduated. The sacrifices and labor paid off.
When our final year result came out, I was so happy. I emerged among those who passed with good grades in the department. I was not the overall best but my labor paid off.
This became a lesson for me, there's nothing we can not achieve in life if we pay the right price. It doesn't matter whether it's the culture of the place or not, we can change the narrative and be among the victors.
