Greetings brethren, I am so delighted to be part of those who received teachings from the man of God today on zoom. It was an eye opener indeed. Here are the lessons I acquired from the meeting.
Lessons
Husband and wives are one flesh, they should render what is due to each other but when it comes to spiritual exercise like fasting and prayer so that Satan will not tempt them for their incontinency, they should abstain from sexual relationship for a particular period of time after getting mutual consent.
Fasting is a special way of requesting from God, it is usually coupled with prayers. It can do great wonders for believers. Prayer and fasting in the right condition yields results a lot. Where science fails, prayers will always prevails.
What is the fasting taught by God?
The fasting God teaches is the type that looses the bands of wickedness, letting go of our evil ways and turning to God. We should also unburden those who are burdened by us. We have to learn to forgive those who are indebted to us, feed those who are hungry and clothe those who are naked, help the poor and give them shelter. When we are fasting we should not run away from being good to others. This is the kind of fasting God recommends
Fasting does miracles, even in the field of sciences, if we don't eat for three day, it can regenerate our immune system even in the elderly. It helps the body to produce new blood cells. It also helps the elderly whose immune system is weak. Fasting is a regenerative flips in our bodies.
In the time of Christ, the lord teaches, when we fast we should not be like the hypocrite who fast for men to see and know that they are fasting. Fasting should not be done to show off. It is something that should be between us and our maker. We don't need to broadcast it.
Women ought to dress very well so that they don't lead other men to commit sin, the bible teaches us that a lustful look upon a person is tantamount to adultery. Women should learn to cover their bodies very well because their bodies belongs to their husbands , as a woman, you should not leave what belongs to your husband opened.
Husband and wives should learn to live with each other with knowledge, giving each other consideration . The husband should give honor to his wife, she is naturally weak, the man must not punch her. If you beat your wife God will not hear your prayers.
The knowledge here, is the man is the head, he must dominate his family, and perform his duties as a man but the woman must be loyal to her husband and submit to him in all ways. A man who doesn't provide for his family and relative is worst than an unbeliever and has denied the faith, this is written in the bible.
The hair of a woman was given to her for a covering, that is why women keep long hair but a man needs not to cover his head. The bible says when a man prays and cover his head he dishonors his head but a Woman should cover her hair, if she doesn't, she dishonor her head. For the head of the husband is Christ and the head of the woman is the man. The meaning of the covering on the head of the woman is the sign of authority, it is a sign that she is under her husband and Christ.
It is the law of Christ for a man to love his wife as he loves himself. Having a kind wife is is like finding the blessing of the Lord . She ought to be treated well.
Women should keep their selves clean, they should ensure they take care of their bodies and their homes so that their husbands will see the need to be around them. Also women should show respect to their husbands and avoid shouting and them. The doctrine of Christ is for women to show respect to their husbands. The good behavior of a woman can tame a man.
If a husband and wife are both believers, they can be able to lead their children to sanctification. But if both are contrary, the will have children who are corrupt. Like we saw in the life of Zacharias and Elizabeth, the parents of John the Baptist, who were holy people and had a son who lived to serve God in the right way throughout his lifetime.
