I want to return all thanks to God almighty for making it possible for me to be part of today's meeting, it was indeed a refreshing moment at the presence of the Lord . Below are some important lessons I got from the teaching.
Lessons
In the bible there is one church only, but in our days there are many Churches bearing different names, Some churches are even called Jehovah witnesses but witness is supposed to be a person who has smelled, touched , seen a thing. It was the apostle of Christ that witnessed jesus not us. The proper name of a congregation built by Jesus is called church and in Greek ecclesia. Which means a calling out.
The members of the first church were called out, God made them come out of their old ways of life, apostle Paul was was called out from Judaism. God, out of his good pleasure separated him from that to become an apostle.
Some early Christians were from Greek and they believed on something else other than God but God called them out. He called people who were from different societies and beliefs to be gathered as one.
Those that were called by God were given hope by God, they make up one body where one spirit is, that is where God call all his child that were scattered abroad to be. There is only one body which is the church of God. There are so many churches in our days but the bible teaches us about one church alone.
Bishops are overseers in the church of God and not in the churches that men are building this days, and for a bishop to take care of the church of God he has to know how to take care of his house hold first. The church written in the bible is called by God's name, not by another name. Whatever is called by God's name and that which he created is for his glory.
When Christ was about to ascend to heaven , he cried unto God to keep the Christians through His name and not any other name. The name of God is a strong tower for the righteous. Eleven verses in the bible confirmed that the true church should be called after the name of God and not other names, it should be called the church of God.
A good name is more than riches, if we are to name anything we should make research first. There is a good name and the best name for the church is the church of God, after his own name. He is the owner of the church and not us or whatever we name it. The good name is the name of God. There is no better name than that of God
.
There are those who practice religion without thinking, animals were created for men to eat but others worship them, that is wrong, every animal is subject to man. No matter how powerful an animal is men can tame them. Men are higher than animals in the order of God's creation. We should not worship them.
Worshipping animals is a lie, it is replacing the truth with lies, it is God who is the creator that we should worship and not what he created.
The church we should believed and trust in is the church of God. The obligation God gave us is to join his church. The way to receive Christ is by receiving his words. We can't accept Christ if we can't accept what he is teaching us.
The Lord gave us a law to cleave to the church, all gentiles are to be fellow heirs of the church, Members of the same body. That body is the church, therefore we as gentile, we are to join the body. The church is an institution built by God to bring salvation to the world. The church was established by Christ years ago in the first century, all we have to do is to join it.
The way for us to be the members of the church of God is to accept God's righteousness or the gospel. If we accept the gospel we become the members of the church of God. We don't need any man to sign us in.
There are doctrines we need to accept inorder to become the members of the church, there are doctrines that we must obey and walk in. The gospel is the good news, it is not accepted by raising our hands but by listening and walking in them. Our manner of life must reflect Christ . Showing worthiness for the gospel which we have received.
