There is so much attached to children that we can not explain. I have a friend who considers children a reward in life. He once said that he doesn't mind losing everything in life, but if God blesses him with a child, he is satisfied.
Children are so special that after all the labor and the struggles in life, a parent is willing to give it all to his children, not minding whether they would squander it or not.
This is why people want to have the best children in the world. It's the reason why parents are ready to sacrifice anything to train their children to become stars.
You will see a couple struggling to feed twice a day, but their children are going to the most expensive schools around.
The aim for most parents is for their children to become great at the end of the day because no joy can be compared to seeing your children making it in life.
Some parents don't mind if they can create their children the way they want. If it were possible, they don't mind if they design and construct the child to their taste.
The disadvantage to this is that man is imperfect; how can we create something flawless like the creator? How can we know what's better for the child?
No parent has the power to see the future; how can they create a child to fit the future that awaits them?
Creation is not something to joke with; this is why the maker would always be supreme. It's not about being too smart or too intelligent; to some people, if they are all-knowing and all-intelligent, they wouldn't have made it in life.
Some need to be smart, some don't, some need to be calm, some don't. As humans, and as parents, we would like to create a child that fits our interests and desires, and not necessarily about what the future holds, and that's where the problem would come.
Left to me, things are better as they are, as no parent has the power or ability to modify their child to what they want before they give birth to it.
It's not all about the child being what you want; what if the parents tamper with something that is actually supposed to be the reason for the child’s progress in life?
What if that modification has the power to tamper with God's original plan for the child, and in worse cases, what if it alters the child, turning it into something else?
What if complications arise along the line and the child dies or becomes abnormal? The idea of modifying children to our taste is beautiful; I personally love it.
Imagine a child being exactly what you want; things like blood conditions related diseases would be eliminated from the child, you can give the child the best immune system that can resist any kind of disease at all, and many other things, honestly that beautiful, it's just like dreaming and waking up to see it happen, but let God do his thing. It is not in our power to decide what our children look like; it's best to let things be the way they are.
Leave the looks the way God created them; your role as parents is to keep the child alive and give him/her the best life: spiritually, morally, academically, socially, and so on. Anything outside this is not our jurisdiction.
