To be frank, I am full of curiosity as I am typing this; my young self would definitely be shocked to see the man I have become over time.
We are two different persons now, although we share the same body and identity; one is wiser, tougher, and more mature.
But I must commend his effort; he paved the way for me to become the man that I am.
Seriously, there are different thoughts and imaginations flying in my head right now: what does he look like, how tough is he, is he calm, calculating, and wise? Does he have good intentions towards people and always have empathy?
Quite crazy that I can't tell what the younger version of me looks like. I don't want to say it is bad because it isn't; it is just evidence that I have grown, and I am advancing.
Every phase in life, apart from childhood when the child can not differentiate between good and evil and make decisions, is very important.
Our lives are like building processes; one phase leads to another. The choices and decisions we make determine the outcome of the next phase.
Whatever we are today is the result of the choices and decisions of our younger selves.
So, I truly respect the younger me. Although I am older and wiser than he is, he is the reason why I am whatever I am.
If I am privileged to meet the younger version of myself, I will first show honest appreciation, then I will tell him what he ought to do in order to position myself for the future.
It's such a great privilege to have that opportunity because it's like having the past and present in the same place; a room is freely given for them to craft a better future.
I really don't have much to say to him, but I'll tell him one thing: keep distractions aside and focus on wealth building through consistent savings, no matter how little.
And instead of hoping on the government for a sustainable job, start up a business, and channel your savings there.
It might be small and embarrassing, but just hold on and keep building; repeat the process over and over, and don't be too disturbed about plenty of returns just yet.
Another thing you must do for me is stay away from relationships for now. I know there is that urge to want to know what it feels like to love and to be loved, but hold on and focus on yourself.
Leave this very decision for me to make in the present and future, but for you, it's a major distraction, and we can not risk it.
Remember to love yourself; take it easy with yourself, and treat yourself like gold. There can never be anyone like you; you are the best version of yourself. Every day when you wake up, don't forget this.
I know you to be a hard-working and ambitious person; keep your spirits high. I appreciate your effort through this journey. Stay strong and keep growing.
