I have different perspectives on this...but I don't disagree with your opinion.

If the job is truly soul sucking and miserable then it taking the risk of moving on from it isn't so bad in my view. It's all a risk and whoever is in that boat should be well aware of that.

I think one has to be mature and strategic about the choices in front of us as that's really the only way we don't end up with regrets even though things don't quite work out the way we plan
