Whenever I have worries about the future am sometimes prompted to remember that I still live a quite privileged life in comparison to a majority of people in this era and perhaps anyone else before the coming of civilization.

It is a quite random thing to recall but the World has honestly never had it this good. It does beg the question of how sustainable this all is. While technology continues to rapidly expand, my major concern is on how we are faring with the current challenges modernization has raised.

We may not be physically deprived of food (in most parts of the World anyways), but we do see other deprivations and circumstances that make us feel empty and deprived. Wej are faced with rather unsustainable levels of stimulation and anxiety that is starting to leave cracks.

Spiritual deprivation has been another area where we may have missed it. For all the arguments the major drivers of separation between church and state proposed, we are yet to fill the void.

I just wonder what it all looks like in the next century or so when the consolidation of what we have built is on full display both from a social and spiritual perspective. I wonder if we have paid too high a price for the next generations to actually benefit.
