Ethereum tentacles are everywhere. I think that it's 'too big to fail' in terms of critical mass. It already crossed that 'mass' of people a while ago.

Now it's only pushing and handling with scalability.

Regarding the Steem/Binance/Justin Dictator drama, I prefer to heal wounds fast and move on. If HIVE fails it won't be 'because of JS/CZ'. What happened should be considered as 'another bump in the road'. We can't stay in the mud licking our wounds eternally.
