How Payouts Work…
I made $10 on a post, how come I only got 3.75SBD and some SteemPower
Similar questions to the one above as regards Payouts on Steemit have been thrown to me especially recently that the number of new steemians from our Community 
So how does it work?
First off, the value( $ shown in Steemdollar-SBD) that you see on your post is NOT the amount of your own payout. As the creator(author) of the content/post, you receive 75% of the total value while as much as 25% is distributed among the curators(those who Upvote, comment and resteem). It currently takes about 7 days from when a post is made for the payout to be executed.
There’s also something else guys…
At the point of making a post you can decide how you want your own part of the payout (your 75%) to be given to you; You have the following options for your post payout:
• 50% | 50% - Half of your payment will be in Steem Dollars and the other half in Steem Power.
• Power Up 100% - Your entire payout will be in Steem Power.
• Decline Payout - You won't receive a payout.
Now Here's a typical example with one of my recent posts...

Voila...
Calculate 75% of the post's value and give me half as SBD and the rest as SP (SteemPower calculated at the current value of STEEM).
