I started by gathering all the necessary materials and tools I would use for the work. I like doing this first because it makes the work easier and helps me avoid unnecessary distractions while making the shoe.
I used the straight pattern to mark and cut the top of the shoe using black leather. I carefully followed the shape and cut it into four pieces.
After cutting the four pieces, I used a V-fancy and applied it to the top of the shoe. I fixed it properly on the sides because I wanted it to beautify the shoe and give the top a nice look.
I cut the black faceless that I would use for the insole of the shoe, which is size 41. I placed it on the light black leather and marked the shape. After that, I applied gum to the necessary parts and started folding it gradually until I got the shape I wanted.
I marked and cut the sole of the shoe using size 41. I followed the shape carefully and cut it properly so that it would fit the size of the shoe.
I applied gum to the welt that I would use around the edge of the shoe. I also applied gum around the edge of the sole and started fixing the welt gradually. After that, I left it under the sun for about 30 minutes so the gum could dry and hold properly.
After finishing the welt, I took the sole to the filing machine. I carefully smoothed the edges of the sole to make the shape cleaner and give the shoe a more beautiful look.
I took the top together with the inner sole and fixed them together. I applied gum and then started lasting the shoe. I used my leg to last the top and inner sole properly according to the size.
This part needs a lot of care. If you last the shoe without checking the position properly, the shoe can bend and may not stand well. I make sure my leg is placed at the middle of the inner sole, then I position the top carefully and fix it gently without moving my leg. Doing it this way helps me get a better and more balanced shape.
I applied gum to the back area of the shoe and also applied gum to the sole where both parts would be joined. I left everything under the sun for about one hour to dry properly. Thankfully, the weather was good that day and gave me the dry condition I needed. After the gum was properly dry, I joined the parts together and hammered them well so they could hold firmly.
And this is the final look of the shoe. Sincerely, I really enjoyed every moment I spent making this design. It took me about two days to finish, and I was happy with the whole process.
After I finished the shoe, the customer was really excited because he liked the outcome. What made me even happier was that another customer came to pick up his own shoe, saw this design, and immediately said he wanted me to make the exact same design for him because he liked it.
