Hello guys, welcome to Hive Open Mic Week 343. This week's theme is Stoicism. I am @emmanuel50, and today I will be singing my original song titled Hold My Hands.
When I saw this week's theme, I decided to look up the meaning of stoicism. After reading about it, this song came into my mind. I felt it connected with the theme because it talks about those moments when we find ourselves doing things we do not want to do or going places we never planned to go. Sometimes, we know the right thing to do, but we still struggle to follow that path. In such moments, we need strength, self-control and guidance.
I composed this song about a year ago. I cannot explain how the melody came, but one day the words and tune just came into my mind, and I started singing. Before I knew it, I had put the song together and decided to keep it. Since then, I have loved singing it. The words are simple, but they carry something meaningful to me.
I chose it for this week because the message fits the theme. Stoicism teaches us to stay steady when life becomes difficult and to focus on how we respond to situations. In my song, I am asking God to hold my hands and lift me up when I am struggling. It reminds me that I should not just follow every feeling or allow myself to be carried away by wrong choices. I can pause, ask for help and try to make a better decision.
I also remember singing this song during a special number at an evening prayer meeting nearby. When my turn came, I decided to present it, and people enjoyed it. Some of my friends did not even know I had composed it myself. That moment made me happy and gave me more confidence in the song.
Whenever I sing Hold My Hands, I feel encouraged and reminded that I can ask for help when I feel weak. I am excited to share it with you all.
