Hello everyone, I’m happy to be here again for another week of @HiveOpenMic. The theme for this week is Confession and the song I decided to bring is Mercy. This is one song that has been with me for a very long time.
I have known this song since I was a little boy. I have been singing it for many years, and even though it has been a long time since I sang it, the song has never really left my mind. There is something about this song that is different for me. Anytime I sing it, I feel something deep inside me that I cannot really explain.
The song talks about asking God for mercy. It reminds us that the reason we are alive today is not because we are rich, beautiful, strong, or even because of what we have achieved. It is because of God’s love and mercy. That message really speaks to me because sometimes we can easily forget where our lives are coming from.
This is also why I feel the song connects so well with this week’s theme, Confession. The chorus says, “Show us mercy now,” and for me, that is like coming before God and admitting that we need Him. We all have things we have done wrong. We all make mistakes, and sometimes the best thing we can do is to be honest with ourselves and ask God for mercy.
There is a personal feeling I always get whenever I sing this song. I feel somehow like the Spirit of the Lord is close to me. It gives me a feeling of peace, and sometimes while singing it, I feel like my sins are being forgiven. This is just my personal feeling, but that is honestly how the song makes me feel.
When I saw the theme for this week, the song immediately came back to my mind. As I started singing it again, I remembered myself as a little boy singing the same song. It brought back those old memories, and I realized that even after all these years, the message of the song still touches my heart.
What I have learned from this song is that we should never feel too proud to ask God for mercy. No matter who we are, we need His mercy every day.
I love this song so much, and I’m glad I can share it again after such a long time. I hope my little confession through this song touches someone’s heart too.
