Hmmmm! Staying a day without Singing gospel songs is like partial death to me.
Music always makes me feel alive especially when my God-given fingers are situated on any grand piano: this is pleasure at its zenith. Sometimes, i could be in the bathroom for hours - doing what?
Singing.
Why? Because, i enjoy the echo. This is the more reason why i love keeping my phone battery charged and my headset intact as this would enable me listen to good sounds and preferably carrying out my miming activities.
Have you listened to "You waited by Travis Greene"? I guess you should give it a trial; it's simply soul uplifting, heaven-connect, in fact, i'm lost for words! For the records, My Daddy in Music, DON MOEN drew my heart to music since my childhood with the song titled "OUR FATHER" wow! This song draws me closer to God everyday. . I'll never forget my first song on Stage at Christ Freedom Life Ministry Church, Warri Delta State "I'm Trading My Sorrows by Women of Faith".
Initially, it was a thug of war despite the fact that i had copied the lyrics and rehearsed properly, i was still nervous. But, the cheering from the crowd lifted my spirit and i became more enthusiastic and courageous about singing.
That same day, the Pastor announced my membership into the Choir. I was so amazed regarding the fact that i was so young; younger than every other chorister. But they loved me and trained me with so much patience. As at then, we had no keyboard, so the first instrument i started learning was the gong (alias agogo).
But, unfortunately, i left the church because my family relocated to a distant area. And that was how i joined my present Church, The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Good Shepherd Parish. This was where i learnt how to sing in parts (Alto, Tenor, Soprano, Still learning Bass) also, I learnt Keyboard because the instrumentalist left for reasons best known to them.
Here, also, i joined a music team called the "Da Trice"; we were going to churches to minister, studios to record songs, and guess what? We were rehearsing in an uncompleted building. Subsequently, we separated due to school relocation where i met Kelvin Keyz who is a wonderful singer and a professional keyboardist - i learnt from him how to play the keyboard and be singing simultaneously both praise and worship.
Right now, i'm addicted to this practice. I could seldom sing in church or at home without playing the keyboard by myself. Right now, I've been made the Music Director of my church for about 6 years now. Now my singing courage has been Nitro-boosted by the Holy Spirit. HALLELUJAH!!! Just follow me, let me educate you a little bit on what my hobby (music) does:
- Gospel Music usually meaningfully reduces the perceived intensity of my pain, especially in geriatric care, intensive care, or
palliative medicine (an area of healthcare that focuses on preventing and relieving the suffering of patients) . - Here’s an easy way to beat your best time if you’re a runner:
- Improves my sleepinv quality . Listening to classical music has been shown to effectively treat insomnia in college students,
making it a safe, cheap alternative to sleep-inducing meds . - Help me eat less . One study found that playing soft music (and dimming the lights) during a meal can help people
slow down while eating and ultimately consume less food in one sitting (perhaps because slowing down helps them to be
more mindful of fullness cues) . - Enhance blood vessel function. Scientists have found that the emotions patients experience while listening to music
have a healthy effect on blood vessel function . Music both made study participants feel happier and resulted in increased
blood flow in their blood vessels. - Reduce stress. Research has found that listening to music can relieve stress by triggering biochemical stress reducers
(think of these physiological processes as anti-stress ninjas) . - Induce a meditative state . Listening to slow musical beats can alter brainwave speed, creating brainwave activity
similar to when a person is meditating or in a hypnotic state. Some research suggests that using rhythmic stimuli (such
as music) to induce these states can have a therapeutic effect, easing symptoms of migraines, PMS, and even behavioral
issues . - Relieve symptoms of depression . When you’re feeling down in the dumps, music can help pick you up (much like
exercise) . Classical and meditative sounds seem to be particularly
uplifting, whereas heavy metal and techno can actually make depressive symptoms worse. - Music helps put people in a better mood and get in touch with their feelings
. Study participants rated “arousal and mood regulation” and “self-awareness” as the two most important benefits of
listening to music. - Improve cognitive performance . Background music may enhance performance on cognitive tasks . One older study
found that listening to music allowed test takers to complete more questions in the time allotted, and get more answers
right . More recent research suggests that whether or not music improves cognitive function depends on whether the
music first improves a person’s emotional state. - Ease stress after surgery. Music isn’t only helpful pre-surgery. Another study revealed that listening to music while
resting in bed after open heart surgery helped relax patients and decrease their stress levels . - Elevates my mood while traveling. Listening to music while driving can positively impact mood . So when you’re feeling
cranky in the car, try cranking some of your favorite tunes. - Help cancer patients manage stress and anxiety. Music has been found to help cancer patients communicate their
feelings, manage stress, and ease physical pain and discomfort .
Now, you can see why i am positively addicted to my hobby? I won't stop doing it as the most import aspect of it is that - my creator (Jehovah GOD) derives pleasure from it
