At last, Johnson caught a new vision. He began to see reasons why he must be educated. He was becoming confident that he could be better off if he devoted quality time to his studies.
Meanwhile, Mr. Barney was one of the teacher in the community primary school, Surulere. He was a brilliant and hardworking teacher. Unfortunately many pupils due to ignorance and laziness did not appreciate him. Also, he was very accommodating and always ready to help any pupils who sought his assistance.
Johnson decided to a approach him and share his feelings with him. Mr Barney was very happy about Johnson's new vision and he further encouraged him. "I really love this. If you had not had that experience, you would not have taken my words serious. The fact is education is the beat legacy you can get from your parents. If you're well read with a good result and are a very creative person, I bet it, you'll sure become successful. All you need to do now is to devote more time to your studies. Avoid all bad friends and be focused."
"why then has Skury continued to discourage young innocent children from going to school?" Johnson asked.
"it is ignorance with laziness that is killing most of those boys and girls. Most of them refused to seek counsel from the right people and it's only what you have that you can give. Honestly, they will not realize the harm they are doing to themselves now. They are only enslaving themselves. Now that you know the truth, kindly do all within your power to convince him to return to school.
At home, he shared his feelings with his father. Although James, his ftaher, loved his idea and was happy with his newly found vision, he feared that he might not be able to send him to school because he had no money to do so.
Therefore, he expressed his feelings to Johnson. Johnson with his determination was not bothered. He however assured his father was that God would help him out.
