Hello very good post in terms of being a reflection from your experience. Certainly homeschooling has some disadvantages that must be solved but they are minimal when we approach the benefits it brings. The school does not guarantee the learning of the contents in its entirety nor much less the development of skills in children only it is institutions that for years have worked focused on a generalized curriculum and that regardless of whether they learn or not equally will be applied by teachers. And if I am also a teacher and I have seen the deficiencies of the system from day one, today I have been fascinated to see how parents have bravely taken on the home education of their children and whether they have a tutor or a teaching agent to support them, very significant changes are taking place. That homeschooling requires more from parents, of course, but we must also think that for years schools were used as large daycare centers where the teacher had to wait for hours after dismissal for the parent to remember to pick up the child at school (it happened to me many times during my 18 years as a teacher) and that parents do not have all the pedagogical strategies that is more than obvious, but they learn as well as good teachers have learned, that parents do not have all the knowledge, neither do teachers, and no matter how many years we have been in the same job, we almost always have to prepare the classes and study before teaching them to refresh our knowledge. Today homeschooling is presented as an opportunity and an added value to family life, I think it is the perfect opportunity for parents to discover that learning occurs primarily at home and that outside the home people will strengthen, polish or develop skills that have already been enhanced at home. And yes I think that one of the weaknesses in countries like Venezuela is the technology because not all the population has access to it but as you mentioned they are specific cases and on the other hand not everything is through the networks but you can take a look at the beautiful posts of the members of the community where they talk about their learning experiences without the use of technology. I really value your experience and as you point out there is still much to investigate but for me homeschooling has more benefits than consequences.
