Hola, hola, ¿qué tal, amigos? ¿Cómo están? Porque aquí todo muy bien, gracias a Dios, honestamente un poquito ocupada porque ya comencé la universidad y saben que eso me quita muchísimo tiempo, pero quería pasar por aquí para mostrarles un poco de lo que fue mi cumpleaños la semana pasada en mi trabajo.
Hi, hi, how’s it going, mates? How are you all? Everything’s going really well here, thank God. To be honest, I’m a bit busy because I’ve started uni and, as you know, that takes up loads of my time, but I wanted to pop in here to show you a bit of what my birthday was like last week at work.
Para mí el día de mi cumpleaños es bastante importante y a la vez melancólico porque yo me recuerdo mucho de mi mamá incluso un día antes siempre lloro y hasta el propio día porque como ya saben mi mamá ha partido de este mundo y aunque ya han pasado bastantes años uno nunca se acostumbra a esa pérdida Y ese día ella siempre nos levantaba con la música del cumpleaños y nos tenía nuestro desayuno cosa que luego de que ya no está ahora nosotros sus hijos lo extrañamos muchísimo y cada vez que nos levantamos lo hacemos llorando Es algo que la verdad extrañamos mucho.
For me, my birthday is quite important and at the same time a bit sad because I think about my mum so much; even the day before, I always cry, and on the day itself too, because, as you know, my mum has passed away, and although quite a few years have gone by, you never really get used to that loss. And on that day, she would always wake us up with birthday music and have breakfast ready for us – something that, now that she’s no longer with us, we, her children, miss it terribly, and every time we wake up, we do so in tears. It’s something we really do miss a great deal.
Pero hoy no estamos aquí para ponernos tristes hoy quise contarles más bien cómo me fue ese día y la verdad es que yo estaba bastante emocionada por ir al trabajo porque sabía que mis compañeros me tendrían una sorpresa ya que días atrás los escuché conversar sobre eso sin querer Pero la verdad es que yo no me imaginé que fuera algo tan bonito y que me fueran a llevar tantos regalos porque la verdad es que fueron bastante regalos entre ellos unos zapatos hermosos y una cartera sin contar que un día después me regalaron uno de mis perfumes favoritos lo cual amé muchísimo pero más allá de todos los regalos Me entusiasmó bastante todo el cariño que me demostraron ese día mis compañeros ya que compartimos bastante cantamos cumpleaños y la pasamos súper bien en la oficina.
But we’re not here today to get all sentimental; instead, I wanted to tell you more about how that day went for me. To be honest, I was actually quite excited about going to work because I knew my colleagues had a surprise in store for me – I’d overheard them talking about it a few days earlier without meaning to. But I really didn’t imagine it would be anything so lovely, or that they’d bring me so many presents – there were actually quite a few, including a pair of beautiful shoes and a handbag – not to mention that the very next day they gave me one of my favourite perfumes, which I absolutely loved. But beyond all the presents, I was really touched by all the affection my colleagues showed me that day; we spent a lot of time together, sang ‘Happy Birthday’ and had a brilliant time in the office.
