Past two weeks, I have been also working on compositions on Photoshop before I go onto the painting. I never learned how to paint on Photoshop grogram professionally so; I am just a beginner, only familiar with basic tools.
Normally, I used Photoshop to edit my final painting if I had to send it digitally. It is actually quite efficient way when using it on the other way around. I tried the digital painting to see the composition and colour palette and then paint the planned out picture on the canvas. In this way, I noticed myself concentrating more on materiality of paint in terms of how to vary a depth with thickness of paints on a surface. It is interesting relationship when comparing two images at once. This painting was to see how the fundamental colours would harmonize with each other and to see the simplicity of shapes in subject matter.
Currently, I am doing another digital to painting on canvas work so stay tuned for next posts to see the process!
