Martin and Kate are now back home after paying tribute to Clara at the town hall. Martin goes to his room to have some rest, and Kate visits the kitchen to check on the things she needs for the dinner gathering.
It is 8 o'clock in the evening, Kate has just finished cooking Irish stew and Shepherd's pie for the dinner, and she is now setting up the dinner table for guests.
The bell rings, and Kate opens the door, it's Jackie. "Hi! Jackie, nice to see you lady of the flowers, please come inside."
Jackie greets her back "Hey sweetie, it is nice to be here", and enters the house, while Kate helps remove her raincoat. Then they both go to the sitting room where Martin has already been waiting for her.
Martin's cellphone rings, he responds to the call "Hello Sean! where have you been buddy, we are waiting for your presence here."
"Sorry Martin, I had to attend to a patient in a very serious condition at the hospital, he is now in stable condition, I'll be there with you by 9 o'clock." Sean responds hastily.
"Take your time Sean, we have all the time in the world to wait for you, your duty comes first." Martin expresses his concern.
"Thanks for worrying about the patient, but he is out of danger and Dr. Sheridan is already here and has taken over my shift, see you at home Martin." Sean responds.
Martin then hangs the phone after saying "Oh! it's fine then, let's meet at home soon."
Sean is an orthopedic surgeon by profession, he works in a renowned national hospital. Martin and Dr. Sean met each other in the hospital during the great riots, it was Dr. Sean who had saved dying Martin's life, this is how they met and became very close friends.
Finally, Sean has arrived at Martin's house, he also brings two bottles of wine for the dinner. They all gather around the dinner table, as a tradition, each person has to offer some tributary words or prayers for the departed soul. While standing still everyone says beautiful things and prays for her eternal life on by on. They are all seated on chairs, Martin invites everyone to start taking meals.
Jackie expresses her feelings about Irish stew "Oh dear Kate! this stew is heavenly delicious, it feels like this stew is made by your mom."
Kate replies with a joyful smile "Thank you for the admiration Jackie." and further adds "I was 15 when she left us, those were very bad times for me and dad, but then you supported us in every possible way you could, you had visited us every day, made us strong, repaired our emotions, and taught me the way of life."
"Come on Sweetie, don't mention it, like your mom, it was my duty to heal her family to get back to life again." Jackie says in a dejected tone, she takes a brief pause and says "Today, I am going to tell you a secret about my well-established life."
"A secret, hmm I bet that'll be an interesting one." Sean says with a startling face."
Jackie continues talking about the secret "You know Martin, I had been residing in your house for 3 months, during and after the great riots."
"Yes, I remember, the rioters burned down the whole Angels Street including your apartment building, and sadly you lost your parents." Martin says in a gloomy voice.
Jackie's eyes become red, tears are gushing out of the tear ducts, her cheeks become red with streams of tears, and the droplets on her chin are falling on the plate.
Everyone holds their breath in glumness, it makes them all feel the pain of those who lost their kith and kin during the riots.
Kate stands and wipes the tears off her face and gives her a comforting hug.
