Jeremiah 29:11; For i know the plans i have for you says the Lord, plans that are for you to prosper and not harm you, plans that will give you hope and a future.
Most often than not in our lives we focus a lot on our past experiences and history so much so that we forget that it is what lies ahead of us that is important and not the things we have already done. Today our verse is telling us that it is much more important to have a future than a history. Because of our disorientation between the two subjects people fall into sin and unrighteousness and forget that they still have future with God, the focus solely on the past and history that they have made and deem themselves unworthy to be sons or daughters of God again. It is the future that is important, it is what you do next after the fall that is important, would you continue to lie down or you would get up, would you continue to live in sin or you will allow God to absorb and cleanse you of your sins.
If you would allow God to work on you, if you will allow yourself to focus on the future rather than the past and the history you have made, then there is yet a chance for you for we cannot make heaven by the greatness of our history and past experiences but rather the life decide to live right now which would determine our future, our tomorrow. Should you do all the good in the world, and live the most holy life ever and perform the greatest of miracles and fall into sin and never come back to God, do you have future then? How would you attain salvation then? Eternity is not secured mainly because of our past and history, that is why we are being encourage to work on our salvation with trepidation, it is an everyday thing. The important thing is to know however that God's got your back and he has great plans for your future, in only you will look ahead and not live in the past and allow his will in your life.
