Genesis 41:38-44; Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God. The powers that be are ordained of God.
The power of wealth lies with God, he makes rich and poor, he elevates and brings low, he raises the dead and emancipate the beggar to the level of princes, it makes the sinner worthy of inheriting his kingdom, he holds the pillars of the earth and has the world in his hands. This clearly makes us understand that as Christians all authority is from the Lord and everything we do ought to be in accordance with his will, for without him failure is inevitable and with God all things are possible.
In our contemporary society however, we tend to neglect the power and authority of God in our lives, we about doing our own things and do not concern ourselves with conforming to the rules and regulations laid down in the scriptures to govern the life of a Christian and this is the cause of most of our problems if not all. Obedience is better than sacrifice because it keeps us from falling into trouble in the first place and then we would not have to bothers offering sacrifices to ask for forgiveness and atonement of sins. Today I admonish all parishioners to make the scripture their guide book in life that the Lord may shower his blessing upon us for abiding by his will. Have a blessed Day even as you meditate upon the word of God.
