Matthew 6:7; And when you pray, do not heap up phrases multiply words, repeating the same ones over and over as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard for their much speaking.
Come to think of it how often do you repeat a phrase or word or sentence when you are having a nice chat with your mum, or dad, or your kid? I mean even when you want to resound an information so it is heard and perhaps heeded you do not say it more than twice or three times. Why then do we say the same thing over and over again in our prayers?
When we do this, we are not having a communication as prayer ought to be, prayer is supposed to be peaceful, if one is sad and needs the Lord to intervene you go to the throne of grace in all humility, in the same vain when one is excited you go to the throne of Grace with all excitement. The same way you talk to your Dad, it is same with the Lord, because he is the Abba Father. If your Dad on earth still heeds to your needs without having to repeat the same thing over and over in one conversation why do you think the Lord will not do it for you?
Psychology teaches us that we only shout during a conversation when we feel we are distant apart, the same way you have to shout over the noise of the day to call a friend nearby. When we feel estranged with the Lord we try to compensate for it through some of these means. So here is the better way to go about it. Pray in all earnest and do so fervently, come to the throne of Grace with a pure heart and worhsip in truth and in spirit and the Lord will surely hear you prayer without you having to repeat over and over.
I hope you have a better communication with the father this week and have a great week. Stay Blessed and have nice time.
