Matthew 6:5-8;And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your father who is in secret. And your father who sees in secret will reward you. And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for you father know what you need before you ask him.
In the word of Christianity, the whole idea about prayer is nothing new to anyone, basically is the first thing you hear about once you have repented or find Christ, everyone knows how prayers is communication between us and God and how it the means by which we bring our supplications to him. But then the question is do we pray right? Do we go about it as we ought to? Taking a look at our scripture today we realize that the Christ was concerned about the issue of prayer and how we ought to go about things, which is why he took his time to delineate on the right procedure to go about it.
This is because in this world there is the right way of doing everything and if the right path is not followed then the probability that we would achieve our desired results is almost zero. So if you do not learn right, it won't stick and if you do not pray right it won't be heard or answered. It is a simple philosophy but you would be amazed at how true it is and how it actually truly works. There is no way i can explain what Christ did any better than has already been written but then i wanted to bring it to your attention today. That the is a right way to pray and in as much as we love to add fuel to our fire and burn bright we should learn to do things right as stipulated by the Lord that our prayers may be answered. Have a wonderful day.
