1st Peter 2:2; Like Newborns infants, desire the pure milk of the word, so that you may grow up into salvation.
Every living thing grows, this may be seen in their increasing in size, increasing in population through reproduction or even in intellectual capacity. Whiles we human grow in diverse ways physically and require proper nourishment in the right ways to grow, so does our soul and spirit also grow. These however do not require the daily dose of food and exercises we take in but rather a daily dose of the scripture and an allocated time to the things of the spiritual and ways of the Lord.
But then you can grow wrongly or in the wrong direction, imagine a child who grows alone in the wild with animals thinking these are his peers or family without knowing that human even exist, this child may grow but would grow wrongly, in the same vain in today's world of christianity, the information out there is a lot and whiles some may be right others are misleading and wrong and if one focuses on these messages as a source of spiritual nourishment imagine the harm they are doing to themselves. Which is why is important to know God for ourselves. The Holy Spirit is the only source of true knowledge and understanding that comes from God and is not tinted by human understand or manipulation. Seek the right nourishment from the right source, pray for the spirit of discernment that you may not be deceived.
