The gifts of the spirits is the bonus that we get as Christians from the Holy Spirit, comforter who was sent to take the place of the son as he goes to prepare a place for us. The gift is given per our potential as Christian and how best we can help the kingdom of God and the church by bearing our gift and availing ourselves for good, growth and edification of our fellows and the church as a whole. But note that whiles the gift is a gift, it does not just pop up just because you are christian, why? Because what Christ promised us is that he will send the Holy Spirit to come and be there for us, although it has been mentioned that once the spirit comes upon us we will manifest his glory in different ways, it is solely up to the Spirit in choosing what he gives us.
The Gifts must be worked for, you must pray for its manifestation, you must keep vigil and talk to the Holy Spirit, you must be willing to work for the Kingdom of God, you have to be worthy of bearing the gifts of the Holy Spirit, because it is by this means that one may be blessed and favored to manifest the Spirit in its gifts. The prayer of a fervent Christian does indeed availeth much. Pray brethren, Pray.
