Like I mentioned yesterday, I tried to go for a photowalk today. This is the result of it though it was not the nature, fields and things I wanted to capture.
Stepping out of my house, I forgot to wear the mask. I wasn’t going very far. Once I crossed my lane, I kind of started to look the odd one out. So, I went back home and wore my mask, which is pretty uncomfortable in this hot weather.
I couldn’t get any pictures from the place I went. For one, I was told about police and excise officials being there today. Didn’t I tell you this is a pretty isolated place? Open and close to the road but a field nearby, so not many people are there usually.
Some guys decided to smoke up there and got caught. So, I was warned before going to be careful. Lockdown is still there till 31st. Why can’t they just keep the weed home🤷🏻♀️ While walking there, I was practicing all the possible questions and replies I could give. More like:
“Where are you going?”
“Nowhere, just till the bridge.”
“Why do you want to go there?”
“Just for a walk.”
“What’s in your pockets?”
“That’s my phone and my camera.”
“Why do you need a camera when you go for a walk?”
“hmm, I need pics for my article!”
Everything ends well after I show my tiny camera and we all go our ways. I didn’t want it to happen though. And I could see people staring when I was walking. The thing is these places have closed communities and no one generally walks with a covered face. That being said, pretty much everyone knows everyone.
With the masks it is a bit different, especially if you are not living here all the time. I’m such someone who comes occasionally and then if at all here, never goes outside. I reached there, more people are there, in the workshops, houses and everywhere.
So, I decided to come back and took these flowers with me while coming back. I had already taken a few inspo pics from pinterest and YouTube. There are a loooot of content on how to create those photos. It was time I wanted to try it instead of watching those videos.
Lesson 1 learned today: Things are not as easy as watching those videos if you are an absolute beginner.
This is one of the pictures I finally kept from the pics I took hoping for something similar to those pictures I am referring. It is much different because I didn’t have enough props to make it like the ones they had created.
Flowers in the pocket and also taped are the other ones I always wanted to try. But, I didn’t have those coloured tapes and I didn’t want to use plastic, so this is what I ended up making using the battery socket in a bag. Again, not at all as I expected.
Then I took some random things and tried taking a decent pic. Most of them were complete failures and I understood how terrible I am with creativity and camera angles, focal length too. God, I always hated learning about light and lenses from school. But I love pics!!!
This one out of all, I really loved and a little bit proud of with the pinks fading and stuff 😌
One thing I learned today, which is not about photography is about the flowers. This is how they were when I came home.
This is how they became with my trial and error session with them. That is when I decided to end today’s efforts. I need to keep a small water tub to keep them the next time.
And these leaves, I have never seen them open. They are the laziest leaves I guess. I have no clue what I was going for there, but I have also kept this pic with the pink holder and the lazy leaves.
