We live in alarming times, of anguish, panic and pressure; product of a plague that has been unleashed worldwide, known as "Coronavirus (COVID-19)".
The purpose of this publication is not to highlight the scientific nature of the plague, but rather the prudential aspect of God's people regarding the behavior and emergence of this plague. Also, how to help those who have been affected in some way by this plague and moral and spiritual support for the rest of the population that does not know Christ.
The prudent behavior of the Lord's church must be the same that God commanded Moses when he sent the tenth and last plague on Pharaoh and Egypt.
Exodus 12: 21-23 King James Version (RVR1960)
21 And Moses summoned all the elders of Israel, and said to them: Bring out and take lambs for your families, and sacrifice the Passover. 22 And take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that will be in a container, and anoint the lintel and the two posts with the blood that will be in the container; and none of you leave the doors of your house until morning. 23 For the Lord will pass to smite the Egyptians; And when he sees the blood on the lintel and on the two posts, Jehovah will go through that door and will not allow the wounded man to enter their houses to attack.
One of the preventive measures that God gave Moses for the people of Israel was precisely that "none of you leave the doors of your house until morning."
This preventive measure, if followed to the letter, would free any Hebrew firstborn from death by the tenth plague that came upon Egypt, "the death of the firstborn of the Egyptians."
In the midst of the current emergency in the world, one of the preventive measures to avoid becoming infected with it (COVID-19), is precisely the same measure that God had given Moses for the people of Israel in Egypt.
The word says that if a Hebrew disobeyed the command given by God, it would have the consequences of being reached by the "angel of death".
The Lord's church must play the role of prudence and remain in strict compliance given by the authorities of each country, in which its citizens must remain in their homes until the spread of (COVID-19) has been controlled. Surely some brother will say: Where is the faith of the church? Faith is important for salvation and health, however, we should not use it to tempt God. We must submit to the authorities of each nation, because they were all put by God (Rom 13: 1).
What to do while we are at home?
The Hebrews were ordered to prepare for the Passover. The Lord's church must be praying, praising God, and interceding for its nation and for all the nations of the earth until God's perfect will is done. All the time that we can be locked in our houses due to (COVID-19), it is simply to pray and raise family altars in which we invoke the favor of God on all humanity and ask that God convert the hearts of those Frightened by what it's happening, they cry out to God.
Being prudent is the call to prevent and not regret.
Pray that God will help us overcome the attacks and effects of (COVID-19) as soon as possible. Amen!
