I made this picture because i am a huge fan of the mad max movies... a huge fan of sci-fi movies in general actually. but the mad max series... pfff.
I was 10 years old when i saw the movie "the road warrior" for the first time, on a pirate channel...!!
sleeping over at a friends house, and his big brother got us to watch the movie.... in the middle of the night, and i did almost shit my pence, hahahaha.....
in that time there was no internet, no cable... the brother had to find the pirate channel by slowly going up and down the search button on the black and white TV....
and when he found the good signal.....: MAD MAX "the road warrior" had just started......!!!
It was surreal in all ways, the cars, the blood, the damage, the actors, the chaos, the madness.... i was hooked... it opened me for a complete new set of eyes to look at the world...
And a long time i imagined that life in Australia was like that.. desolate, no water, chaos on the roads, guns everywhere....!!! a couple of years later i realized that i was terrible wrong, hahahaha.
After that thunder dome came in the cinema's and i went there in 1985. i was 13 and it was impressive once again.... but not so mind-blowing as the road warrior.... and after that.... video ( vhs ) came into the world and i could rent the first Mad max movie.... that is a sinister and evil one, i think the first one is the most dark... not in the action but the story is damn dark....
and after that it was like 20 years of waiting till someone had the courage to make a new mad max... and i really like it, but now i'm 45, so it did not had that huge impact anymore...
but who cares.....!!!
