Hello great steemians!!
So today I woke up to see a post I did yesterday having about 93 upvotes(although the value of those upvotes are by far not directly proportional to the votes, lol). The funny thing is - I forgot to promote the post just like I normally do with my other posts, so I was surprised when I saw it this morning.
Now for a whale or dolphin 3.77$ might be a little on the low side, but an upcoming minnow like me that's a really big breakthrough.
So this morning I'm gonna be sharing my experiences so far on steemit. I want you to see this post as an encouragement( for every minnow out there) and as a motivation to press on and do more(for every dolphin and whale out there).
I signed up on steemit in late February this year (I can't really remember the exact date) but I was approved in march. So technically I joined steemit in March. I will forever be grateful to @zengencoon for introducing me to this platform.
When I joined my sole aim was to make money through my posts - nothing else. So when things did not go as intended, I mean when my posts did not generate the expected income I kinda lost interest until I came across a post by @dobartim. In that blog he described steemit as both a business and a passion. So whatever way you want to look at it, you still have to be committed. We all know that Good businesses don't just start of and skyrocket.
I started making research on how to bypass being a minnow and go straight to were the big boys are, but like you all know there's no short cut like that( at least none that I know of). I later discovered several upvote bots and resteem bots like @minnowbooster
@minnowpond
@followforupvotes etc. But after trying out some of them I noticed that I was not just getting any profit so I stopped and went to cool off for some time(outside steemit of course).
Trust me I'm not one of those guys that will tell you that the journey so far has been smooth and sweet, no!. For a minnow, especially one without connections, steemit can get frustrating and you might even be tempted to leave and give up everything. But here's a solution I've found in my short time here, I guess you want to know what it is....
It's uhmmmm..... CONSISTENCY! yes that's all you need to make it in steemit. Just keep doing what you are doing, people will definitely notice you. It is no longer rumours that there are whales in this community that are stingy with upvotes, but I can assure you there are also good ones.
Now this post will not be complete without acknowledging those who have been very instrumental for my success, the likes of @candyman - I really appreciate you for encouraging me with your upvotes daily. Also my brethren at
@steemchurch and our honourable leader
@sirknight. Thank you very much for walking with me on this Journey so far.
