We decided to go for a walk in Ringinglow, which is a lovely part of the Peak District in Sheffield, UK, and is surrounded by open countryside.
When we started our walk, it was nice and sunny. The sky was full of white clouds and a lovely blue sky. The weather has been very unpredictable with sun one minute and downpours the next with thunder and lightning thrown into the mix.
There were some excellent views of the surrounding countryside.
Unfortunately, what started as a nice sunny day changed dramatically later on, as the storm clouds appeared.
The sky looked quite demonic at times as the heaven's opened on the horizon.
I love storms like this and I can understand why people chase storms. I don't like being out when it's lightning though.
Thankfully, by the time the dark clouds had arrived we were on our way back to the car.
We were lucky this time as we just got back in time before the storm finally reached us.
It was a really good walk with extensive views across the moors. It wasn't too strenuous along the footpaths even though it was a bit rocky in parts and we didn't see a single soul.
