I went for a walk around the country park just after a brief shower had passed. There was that fresh smell you get after rain, and the air felt cool and clean. The path was mostly dry, with only a few damp patches here and there.
There wasn't another person in sight, not even the usual dog walkers. It felt as though I had the whole park to myself.
A bright purple bellflower and a small cluster of pinky red valerian were growing right next to the footpath. Both are tough plants that will always find space to grow through the cracks.
One thing that caught my eye was the dapples of sunlight, making bright, round spots on the ground. The rest of the floor was covered in dark shadows.
I also spotted meadow cranesbill flowers growing in a few places. Their purple colour added something different amongst all the greens of the grass.
As I walked around the circular route, I noticed lots of oxeye daisies growing in the middle of the rough grass. The weather couldn't quite decide what it wanted to do. Sometimes, it was very sunny and then overcast. When it rains it rains hard but briefly. Typical, british weather.
