Today, I enjoyed a nice walk around the local park. The weather was warm and sunny, but not too hot for a leisurely stroll. The paths were quiet, with only a few people out walking. Most people are still heading out either very early in the morning or later in the evening because of the heat.
As I wandered along, I noticed several bees busy collecting nectar from the wildflowers. They moved from flower to flower. I managed to take a few photographs with my mobile for the Phone Photography Contest - #121 initiated by 
I also spotted a Red Admiral butterfly resting on a cluster of flowers on the buddleia bush. Unfortunately, it refused to open its wings, no matter how long I waited. Oh well, you can't win all of the time. Sometimes nature refuses to co-operate and that's their prerogative.
Further along, I saw something sat on the footpath. I couldn’t quite make out what it was.
As I got closer I realised it was a black cat sitting quietly. It looked at me for a moment, as if deciding whether to stay or leave. As I slowly walked closer, the cat quickly ran off into one of the gardens where it belonged.
Although I did not see everything I had hoped for, the walk was still very enjoyable. Spending time outdoors, watching wildlife, and appreciating the small moments is always good. Every walk is different, and that is what makes exploring the park so nice.
