It was slightly misty in my village this morning. I decided to drive further afield because I knew it would be even better in the woods. I managed to find a parking space in the layby next to the opening in the wood. The air was very damp.

It's an area where you meet fellow walkers or a few dog walkers, so you have to be prepared for dogs running and jumping on you. People not so much ...

I could hardly see over the fields apart from the sheep.

I do like to see gates with mist around them. Mist can make the most boring gate look ethereal.

I found a lovely commemorative Christmas bauble for 'mum and dad' still hanging from the tree.

Misty mornings bring out what you can't normally see when the dank air lands on spiders' webs.

I like the vibrant green moss on the stonewalls and the different orange and brown colours.

I always find random things in wooded areas. This time it was a discarded blue drum and lost spectacles.

After doing a circular walk, I called in at a different area to take a few more photographs. After the snow had all melted, it left a lot of flooding in the wood.
