More photos from my recent trip to Norfolk, starting with the Old Lighthouse, which is now privately owned and used as a self catering holiday cottage.
Burnham Overy Staithe Windmill is a grade II listed building that has also been converted into a holiday cottage by the National Trust. It has four floors and an attached cottage and outhouse, and can accommodate nineteen people. I do like quirky places to stay in.
When the tide is out, there are miles of lovely sandy beaches and sand dunes to explore.
The area runs sea tours for coastal trips and to go in search of the seals and of course finding all about the local area.
They have placed zig-zag groynes on the beach as a sea defence but I don't think they work. I like that they've left it as it still looks quite interesting.
The lovely coloured beach huts that cost an arm and a leg to buy. They are way more expensive down south though.
Finally, we stumbled across a lovely gift shop called 'The Strandline' but you quickly realise the shop sells many other things such as flowers, jewellery and also items that the owner Alison has made herself from driftwood and shells. It was a good end to a perfect day.
