The theme for this week's #featheredfriend's photo contest (#smap) is TOGETHER.
We have a couple of swan couples/families in the village. We also have several ponds and lakes, but they all seem to like the same pond, so they chase each other off. Today was the turn of the couple with the two cygnets. They spend quite a lot of time out of the water as they graze on the grass. This morning, they were trying to cross the road, so I nipped out with some food to get them back near the pond. Once they spotted me, it didn't take much persuading to follow me.
They all had a good fill before I moved onto the ponds.
It's funny that the males are always the first in the queue when it comes to food.
Even if the drakes have a partner, they will still chase her off to get the food first.
I did make sure they all got a full belly before I left.
