Some of the woods in my county are commercial plantations owned and maintained by Forestry England. Thankfully, they welcome hikers to use the footpaths in the woods and forests. It was a good solid gravel track to walk on today, keeping us out of the mud.

There's still lots of water about which isn't surprising with all the rain we've had. My walking boots that I purchased last September, are still keeping my feet dry. It's a novelty to go back home with dry feet. I'm surprised my toes haven't gone rotten by now!

We turned off the gravel track and followed the footpath through the wooden gate, into a more open area.

There's supposed to be deer in this area but our paths haven't crossed yet.

The vibrant green moss that was on the stone walls really stood out.

They are still chopping diseased trees down to keep the others healthy.

It was only a shortish walk but it had some lovely scenery and nice easy, flat footpaths.
