It's not often I see anything different on my village pond but a widgeon visited today. I don't think we've had one land here before.
A little moorhen. You can see these little birds throughout the year.
A woodpigeon stopping for a drink from the puddle.
A cormorant standing drying its wet wings after diving.
A mandarin duck skating on an icy pond a little further afield.
A robin redbreast and a pheasant. Pheasants spend a lot of time on the ground. They remind me of road runner when they're running away from something.
