We attended a local bird carving competition that is held every year. There were different classes, advanced, intermediate, novice and youth.
Some of the carvings were very intricate. The owl was my favourite.
I did like the walking sticks as well, although they looked too good to use. If I bought one I would use it as a decorative piece instead.
There was an Exhibition Table as well for carvers who hadn't entered the contest.
It was an interesting visit seeing the different carvings and styles. It also gave the contestants a chance to meet other carvers and also sell some of their carvings.
