While out walking around the local lake, quite a few ducks were having a wash. Perhaps they were trying to look their best for courtship now that spring is here. 馃檪 Not that you'd notice with the unsettled weather we are still having.
This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.
A couple of great crested grebes were basking in the sunshine while it lasted. Centuries ago, they were once hunted for their lovely colourful feathers, nearly wiping them out. Thankfully, the practice has stopped. Feathers always look better on a bird, I think.
