We visited the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) Arne Nature Reserve in Dorset, which is a haven for lots of different wildlife. We had to pay a £5 parking charge before we set off intending to do a circular walk.
Unfortunately, some of the trails had been cordoned off as they were filming for the TV show 'Springwatch', which tells you about the british wildlife during all of the seasons.
We had to make our own route up, so we headed down to the beach area.
We past some lovely views of the heathland and wetlands.
We had some respite from the sun as we walked through the wooded area. It was still very hot though.
We stopped to look at the ant hill at the side of the footpath. You could see a few holes where the entrances were. There were loads of little ants scurrying around the floor.
Unfortunately, it got far too hot, so we never made it to the beach. There's no shade there either so we turned around and walked along the Dumbledore Trail.
Just before we got back to the car we stopped and looked at the ladybird spider sculptures.
On the plaque, it stated that you never get to spot any ladybird spider's in the UK, so I presume that's why they've made some MASSIVE models for visitors to see what they look like. So very kind of them!
