Interesting @beatrice3em! Passionate? What am I passionate about? Well, I am passionate about music, but do not make a living at it. I lead worship at church, and I think if I were to be paid for it, it would not feel the same.

I worked for a Big Box retailer for years during which time I was a truck unloader, a department manager; a support manager and an assistant manager. When we relocated, I went back to being a department manager and was unhappy enough to quit. Before, they could key in my termination, I was snagged by the vision manager of the same store and asked to come and join their team. I did, and figured when I HAD to take the state boards to get my license to be an optician, I would just quit as I really don't test well. As the time for the boards approached, I realized (with much stress) that I really needed to take the boards. Suffice it to say I went, I tested and I conquered but paid physically for it. ( I seriously do not test well!!!). But, I passed and soon became the manager of the vision center there. Long story short, I quit to take a 'better' job that turned our not to be better at all, and ended up working for a doc that I'd worked with back at that first optometric job. He had opened his own place 10 minutes from my house. I currently work for him as his licensed optician, office manager, insurance biller, frame and contact lens purchaser-essentially, jack of all trades person! I love my job as I am freer to actually help the patient while still making a profit for him. It is very rewarding! It can be stressful, but I will stay until time for retirement.
