We got up this morning long before sensible folk do, not to mention the birds or even the cows!👀 It was shopping day and time to set out on our adventure.
There’s not too much going on where we live at 6 am in the morning, so there wasn’t a lot of traffic. Not mind you that there should be, because of lockdown. Winco was seriously not busy - no line and no security guard letting you in either. We did our shopping and got done fairly quickly. Onward we went!
Walmart was the next stop and you could see a definitive increase in the number of folks. Also noted were less use of masks and gloves. We hurried to get done as most of the folks there were not practicing social distancing either! 🤨
By the time we were done there and 2 other places as well, let’s just say there is no place like home!!
After some coffee and food, we just vegged our for a bit before heading out for the hike.
The day was essentially cloudy with the constant threat of rain. It never did, though!
Actifit-Lamb chose this wonderful downed tree for her resting spot for the day. We did have to abandon it because of the ‘escort bee’.
Now I know, you’re thinking, just what is an escort bee? Every day when I hike, these rather large bees find me and fly circles around me as I go. They often get fairly close, but begin looping around me moving away. This happens multiple times during the hike in multiple locations. This time though, I think we must have collided while I was taking Actifit-Lamb’s pic and I had the feeling I needed to move quickly! So I grabbed her and we ran! All’s well that ends well! Whew!😳
On the way up, I took this shot as we were getting ready to head up into the woods. I figured this might be the last photo op to get the contrast of the flowering trees against the newborn green leaves.
Tomorrow is work, and I believe we may be soon opening again. Nothing official-just a hunch.
