I went to Lagos yesterday from Akure with some friends and bought a fuel of 50 thousand naira which was almost full tank. We decided not to use AC, so we can conserve fuel but when we got to Berger, just before Omole phase 1, the fuel indicator came up yellow, and all of us in the car shouted UP NEPA, because we were all looking at the fuel guage till we got to lagos. Gone are the days when 8 thousand naira fuel would take us to lagos, and we would spend only 3 thousand naira fuel though out our movement in Lagos. Nowadays, we board public transport. Bus from Lagos to Abuja is 25 thousand at Iyana Ipaja (price might have changed within the last 24 hours) but taking a personal car to Abuja will cost over 100k in fuel when going and same when coming.

It is very surprising how we Nigerians will still adapt.
