A very busy and stressful day i guess, mine not left out as i even had to travel. Seeing lots of accidents scenes but God's protection kept me.
But then with this write-up I want to pass a message to those who have at one point in time surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ the Savior of the World. Mathew 1:21.
I have few things to point out to you. I pray that God will speak to your heart.
As we all know, the world in which we live has an ongoing event which takes place after every 4 years though we have other competitions outside this that takes place around us from day to day.
Failure sometimes is bitter but is part of human experience, it makes us strive harder.
Naturally no person will love to see his or her country fail.
But unfortunately when it happens we can't help it.
Football is a game, if applied properly personal is an exercise the Bible approves that "1 Timothy 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come."
But when it comes to faning a Club, being emotionally drain and affecting your spiritual being, for a Christian is questionable.
My question which I believe is also God's question is how did you feel, probably yesterday when some set of people lost a game or in the past when some people lose matches.
Did you feel bad, brokenhearted or sad?
“How do you know when sports or a sport is an idol in your heart though you claim to be a Born again Christian?”
*Have you ever felt that way when a sinner you know dies around you and goes to eternal hell and you never told him or her about Christ?
Have you ever felt like that whenever you committed sin against God?
Have you ever felt like that whenever you missed your quiet time?
Have you ever felt like that whenever you didn't preach the gospel in the bus or in school?
Have you ever felt brokenhearted about the sinners in your family and among your friends who are on the eage of falling into hell?
Have you ever felt sad whenever you went to church late?
Have you ever felt sorrowful whenever you that gospel of Christ has not gone anywhere yet?
Have you ever felt pained that you can't pray for 30 minutes which is 1/3 of the time for a full football match?
Have you ever felt like crying or even cry whenever you see that you are lusting, watching pornography, masturbating and keeping secret sin?
If no, I want to tell you to your face, I'm sorry you are not a Christian or you've backslided and is terrible that you waste time when there is no time, the world will soon be shocked by the return of Christ and your are joking with it.
The Bible describes it in Matthew 24:12 And because iniquity has abound, the love of many is waxing cold.
If Christians believe this and place football at the fore of their minds and hearts, then they have created an idol that governs they feelings or passion and come before God and their spiritual lives.
What was your reaction at the players, the referee and the government, you abused them? You mocked them? You called them stupid? God punish?
Did you so love the unbelievers who scored the goals as to calling them your husband? Than there is something wrong with your Christian life. You need a check on it.
Did the game stop you from praying before sleeping? Did it spoil your mindset?
Have you posted about Christ Jesus, telling the sinner in facebook list that they should repent as well as you did for the game?
Have you for one talked about Christ the way you talked about the game?
Where did you watch the match, in a bar with drunkards?
In an hotel with harlot?
In a the street with sinners and gamblers?
Revelation 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
Can you say you didn't fall into the sin of idolatry?
The message I have for you from Jesus is this, knowing that Satan is looking for every means to pull the world to hell
Revelation 16:15,Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
And in everything you give yourself to
1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
Colossians 3:17 Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
1 Corinthians 10:14 & 1 John 5:21 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
And if you're still a sinner repent from your sins now while you still have the time. Tomorrow is not sure.
Always be full of joy and let your light shine.
God will not tolerate this kind of idolatry. If you want your life to continue without God’s presence, then continue.
if you are guilty or your spirit is telling you that you did wrong don't say I'm a member of this church or where is in the Bible? Or but my pastor also dose it na.
Shun pride, If you truly repent and trust Jesus in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord," you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.
Action Point: Make deliberate and conscious efforts to live a holy life each day and see the rivers of living water gushing out of you.
