This is a digital reworking of a gouache painting I did last year. I ended up with 12 alternative versions so far but this one above is the one I like best...
Below a little bit of my working process, starting with the original:
I wasn't happy with the result of the gouache painting... I first reworked the mouth, eyes and nose and changed the format from portrait to landscape.
Then added some raw fractals. Ended up with way too many layers to discard... and also with some interesting effects I used in a few of the alternative versions.
A couple of hours later I was finally starting to like the results:
So I kept erasing and blurring...
