I fully intend to stop by here often, so I'll start the story of my small, and currently messy, garden from the beginning.
I moved to my current house just a few months ago. My mom, a hopeless plant lover, used to live here. But she's old now, her health isn't what it used to be, and she even had to undergo retinal surgery, which kept her away from her passion for about three months. After that, she emigrated to another country, and that's where I came in to take care of her garden.
Don't think it's an easy task. Water is scarce, space is small, and since we're still under construction, we have to share it with some dry materials. But my mom entrusted me with her beloved plants before leaving, and she frequently asks me about them鈥攖heir health, if they've been thriving, how I'm taking care of them. In short, I feel I can't let her down.
So, I'm going to need all your support, advice, and good vibes to move this family project forward and make the garden flourish and put a smile on my mom's face at the same time.
At the moment, I'm taking care of a rosebush that was already sick when she left, a Crown of Christ, a small malanga, some plants for culinary or medicinal purposes, and two young acerola and guava plants, respectively.
Little by little, I'll tell you about each of them, and about others I have in the works. There's a lot of work to do, but the truth is, I need a little natural greenery in my life, something alive and noble to which I can dedicate my efforts because, as I've heard, plants always give back in kind.

Hola, amigos jardineros. Es mi primera vez en esta comunidad. Llevaba rato buscando d贸nde y con qui茅n compartir los momentos bonitos de mis plantas, consejos y preocupaciones y por fin los encontr茅 a ustedes.
Tengo toda la intenci贸n de pasarme a menudo por aqu铆, as铆 que comenzar茅 la historia de mi peque帽o, y de momento desordenado, jard铆n desde el principio.
Me mud茅 hace solo unos meses a mi casa actual, antes viv铆a aqu铆 mi mam谩, una amante incurable de las plantas, pero ella ya es mayor, su salud no es la de antes e incluso tuvo que someterse a una cirug铆a de retina lo que la alej贸 de su pasi贸n por unos tres meses, despu茅s de los cuales emigr贸 a otro pa铆s y ah铆 es donde aparezco yo a hacerme cargo de su jard铆n.
No crean que es tarea f谩cil, el agua escasea, el espacio es peque帽o, y como todav铆a estamos en obras de construcci贸n, hay que compartirlo con algunos materiales 谩ridos. Pero mi mam谩 me encarg贸 much铆simo sus amadas plantas antes de marcharse y con frecuencia me pregunta por ellas, su salud, si han prosperado, c贸mo las estoy cuidando. En fin, siento que no puedo decepcionarla.
As铆 que voy a necesitar todo su apoyo, consejos y buenas vibras para sacar adelante este proyecto familiar y hacer florecer al mismo tiempo el jardin y una sonrisa en la cara de mi mam谩.
De momento estoy cuidando lo mejor que puedo de un rosal que ya estaba enfermo cuando ella se fue, una Corona de Cristo, una malanga peque帽ita, algunas plantas con fines culinarios o medicinales y dos j贸venes plantas de acerola y guayaba respectivamente.
Poco a poco les ir茅 contando de cada una de ellas, y de otras que tengo en proyecto.
Hay much铆simo trabajo por hacer, pero la verdad es que necesito un poco de verde natural en mi vida, algo vivo y noble a lo que dedicarle mis esfuerzos porque, seg煤n he escuchado, la plantas siempre te devuelven con creces lo que les das.
