A conviction is much stronger than a simple belief, for that reason the conviction is to have irreversible and immutable conviction for which it would be willing to risk life if it were possible.
The Christian who has conviction is a firm and constant person in his goals and objectives.
The person who does not have strong conviction is the one who always goes with the current of this world, because he has no convincing principles and becomes a slave to the environment where he circles.
Daniel was one of the first captured by the Babylonians in 605 BC. Upon his arrival in Babylon, Daniel was chosen to receive three years of specialized training (as well as special food and drink) to prepare him for service in the palace, but none of this intimidated Daniel since his life was full of spiritual convictions.
His convictions had a profound impact on those around him - especially on his three closest friends who were later thrown into the fiery furnace for refusing to bow before a golden image; , because the one who has conviction of something never yields to the pressures of anyone and less in the one of a man who honored by conviction to God in everything.
The degree of conviction of a person is almost always linked to the relationship with God. That is why we can say that Daniel was a man of conviction about what he had believed and in this chapter we can read a breakdown of convictions in all the problems that were presented, because Daniel showed that God was above all in his life and there was no power on earth that could make him change his mind about his lord Jehovah of the armies.
Daniel honored God in everything, for example he did not bow to any worldly king, nor was he contaminated with the king's food by implying everywhere that he had a King and was the eternal God and he would only bow down and worship.
¡Hopefully we can today show the same conviction that Daniel and his friends do not contaminate themselves with the things of the world!.
