Creativity is an fundamental tool for my job but intrigues me on a personal basis as well. A course I took at the University of Saint Martins in London, on "Developing Your Creativity" was one of the most interesting things I've ever done.
Yes, you can develop your creativity.
A unique experience! We learnt how you can out of nothing, out of simple everyday things and objects, create something new and unique. I dare to admit that in the beginning it was quite difficult to push yourself to think out of the box and beyond ordinary. I remember holding an orange for about half an hour, not having any clue what to do with it. How on earth can an orange give you a sparking idea?
Creativity shows the way to the most innovative results. Needless to say that everything we use today, was once a pioneering discovery. Someone once had an idea, that nobody else had.
Creation is inspirational at all levels. The whole process of it, starting from a simple idea, to its accomplishment and then success, is exciting.
Our mind is a powerful tool that if properly "trained" can work wonders! Try to change the way you see things. Focus on the details, get inspired by them. If an idea comes across your mind try to develop it. Imagine how you can improve your first thought. Analyse it and stick to it.
Don't quit.
It is very important when you want to succeed, to show patience and persistence until you achieve your goal. The person who thought of the game "Scrabble" often needed to make many alterations in order to reach his aim. He did not quit as many times as if he had been turned down. And it turned out to be totally worth the while.
Challenge your creativity and you will be amazed by the results!
