TGI Fungi Friday the 13th
This is odd #fungi for #fungifriday. Red, flattish, and bumpy on the outside with bright, mustard yellow wet fleshy stuff on the inside. . .

My family is growing
So, I can't have children of my own and no adoptions are possible given my health history, therefore I have four-pawed babies. A friend bought a Guinea pig from a pet store and was told the pig was male.

Happy March 1st!
Finished up prepping the back flat garden beds and cleared out the snap peas from the back winter bed. I think I am going to get a handheld torch to burn holes in the landscape fabric. Still undecided.

So, I went to Paris...
#Paris, #France was pretty amazing. I hope to share some photos here along with a few reflections of my adventure. One thing that I found interesting was my preconceived notion that the #Eiffel Tower was

Danger?!
So, my birdhouse gourds have acquired some beautifully patterned mold. I scrubbed some off and I understand that mold is normal when drying gourds. However, I am not certain that this mold is okay or dangerous

Happy Caturday
My sweet Dormina. I got her and her sister from a friend. She was essentially a farm rescue. Banana used to bully the kitties. Now, Dormina dominates. She is my constant companion.

Fungi Friday: what is this thing?
This monster grew in the yard of a home I was renting in Folsom, California. It was about five inches tall. I have never seen anything like it. I had to dissect it, to see what it looked like inside. It

Cauliflower!
My very first successful cauliflower! I was so hungry at dinner that I forgot to take a pic of my garlic roasted cauliflower. I have only one other head of cauliflower that is growing...I hope it survives.

Fungi Friday: cup fungi
Found this curious-looking fungi in my back yard area. I think it is Peziza Badia, but I could be wrong. These are pretty big. Definite cup-like structure. Feels like a dehydrated apricot. Looks like a

Tree Tuesday
For #treetuesday, this is one of three fig trees in my yard. This one is a brown turkey fig...it is a delicious fruit that I have made into preserves, fruit leather, and eaten fresh off of the tree.

Now more than ever...
We need to be self sufficient. Here is a picture of some wonky carrots I pulled up and am steaming for dinner. They are oddly shaped but packed with vitamins and minerals, they are organic and nongmo.

Content Caturday
My sweet girl, Dormina, for #caturday. She brings me solace. She calms my nerves and helps to alleviate my anxiety. She is super soft and my anxiety is tactile-reactive...petting her is healing for me.

A beautiful 55 degrees Fahrenheit winter day
I took a break from work to capture some sights around my yard on this beautiful 55 degree day. Bottle tree in progress. Old bottles. More old bottles. Nature on top of the barbecue. Yard art. Poppies

Odd
I planted the seed and tended the soil and this odd little carrot emerged and I ate it. Fin.
