For some people it seems to be very easy to influence the crypto markets. When John McAfee tweets his "coin of the day", the value of the promoted coin explodes.
On 23rd of December, when McAfee promoted Digibyte DGB , the prize on the markets exploded, pushing DGB up 120% in short time. Many followers seemed to profit greatly by reacting fast to McAfee´s daily hype. Fairly it has to be said that DGB was already in an uptrend before the McAfee´s Tweet and gained even more value the following days. Great way to make easy money one would think.
On the 24th of December same happens with Reddcoin. McAfee tweets: Coin of the day: Reddcoin.
Today the daily hyped coin was Humaniq HMQ, but something different happened. A Massive pump in the first seconds after the tweet was followed by massive dumps for about 40 minutes. It really seems that some people, who hold huge amounts of HMQ´s, just waited for their big chance to sell out at an extra high prize. All McAfee followers who reacted later than 1 minute after McAfee´s tweet, but within the first 10 minutes had to digest a substantial loss. This is probably the majority of the followers who wanted to make "easy money" by reacting fast. So if you follow the hype be prepared to loose big time.
Overall John McAfee does great promotion for the Crypto space. Would be awesome to see John McAfee tweeting about STEEM and EOS in the future. This would shake things up for sure.
