Brandon Nimmo has been lost at sea for the Mets the last few months.
The outfielder has been on the injured list after getting whiplash running into a wall. The injury took enough of a toll on him that he struggled the month he played after the injury.
He started baseball activities some time back only to be shut down after seeing the doctor.
Now, he is ready to start his rehab assignment.
Nimmo is in Port St Lucie to begin the process back to the majors. He is the designated hitter and batting second.
This will be the first time he is on the field since May. The Mets hope his return is soon since they are in the hunt for the Wild Card in the National League.
